Junior Designer

We’re looking for a junior designer ready to take their career to the next level.

About you

A passionate, dedicated and motivated member of the studio, you will work as part of larger teams and have the opportunity to contribute to projects from conception to completion. You are highly adaptable, tenacious, excited to learn and committed to seeing jobs through from beginning to end.

Articulate and confident, you are comfortable being part of larger group discussions and keen to bring new ideas to the table. You will work closely with the whole design team, giving support on existing projects as well as leading smaller deliverables independently. Proactive and with great communication skills you are able to manage your time well and never afraid to ask questions.

Responsibilities

  • Craft work of the highest standard paying excellent attention to detail while being sure to maintain agreed timescale and schedules
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy throughout everything you do, making sure that work is detailed and changes are carefully made
  • Contribute to a project at all stages, from initial research through to the final delivery ensuring that your team is creating innovative and original work that excites you and the studio
  • Ensure seamless communication within the studio to align expectations, liaising with the Creative, Design, Strategy and Account Directors as appropriate on all matters whether creative, resourcing or staff needs
  • Think holistically about a problem and maintain engagement throughout, being careful to think about the bigger picture as well as the finer design details
  • Take ownership of your work and ensure that you take the initiative without always waiting to be asked

Skills

  • With a university degree in design or the equivalent, you have an exciting and varied portfolio that you can discuss with clarity and passion
  • A great listener, you absorb everything and learn from everything that you’re exposed to helping you think laterally and creatively
  • Not afraid to put your hand up, you get involved at every opportunity no matter what the type of project or process
  • A great communicator, you are comfortable with feedback, adaptable to change and in constant contact with the senior members of the design team as well as Client Services so that momentum is maintained
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and excited, you are passionate about design and always searching for new ways of doing things
  • Thoughtful and coherent, you make sure that there are ideas behind the work you create and your presentation of it is logical and ordered
  • Flexible, fast and able to juggle your time, you can multi-task working on several projects at once, but are also able to recognise when you might be overloaded
  • Skilled in a broad toolkit: Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, After Effects) and Figma
